My Christening (and Mummy's too) - 12th Aug 2007

Hi Everyone,
Today was a very special day for me - it was my Christening and Mummy decided to get Christened too. The Christening was held at Chapel Allerton Methodist Church in Leeds as part of the Sunday Service so there were lots of people there. It was a great service and both Mummy and I were very good we didn't cry when we were blessed with the holy water.

After the Christening we went back to Grannie and Grandad's for a Party and we had a BBQ. Grannie & Grandad organised it all and made lots of nice things for the BBQ, salads, desserts etc I was very pleased as everyone had a great time and had plenty to eat and drink including Daddy. Grannie & Grandad put on a fantastic party.

Check out my Christening Cake - Grannie made it all for me.

My Godparents are Mel (who came all the way from Australia for my day), Lesley, Kate (who unfortunately couldn't make it) and Uncle Gary.

I'll post a few more photos of my Christening.

Lots of Love - Ruby x

Daddy's Here Hooray!!!!!!!!! (Aug 9th)

Hey,
Mummy & I packed up and left York on Wednesday 8th the day before Daddy arrives home and we are so excited.
Grannie & Grandad drove us over to Manchester to go and meet Daddy at the airport, Mummy is so excited. At the airport we bumped into Grandad Steve, a very nice surprise as he hadn't told us he was coming and Uncle Gary came too, so we had a little welcoming party for Daddy. It was so cool seeing Daddy arrive, Mummy thought I might cry, but I didn't, I was happy to see him as was everyone else, so after lots of hugs & kisses we went into Wilmslow to meet Lisa (Uncle Gary's Fiance) and have lunch at Pizza Express, it was the first time Daddy had met Lisa and we all had a lovely lunch, then it was back to Leeds for us and I got to play with Daddy, well I have missed him and it didn't take Daddy long to get me laughing and he arrived just in time for my Christening....

Cheerio for now

Back to York (31st July - 7th Aug )

Hi,
Rest that's what Mummy & I need or Mummy does - after our hectic and fabulous week in London, Mummy & I can home to York to rest or so we thought, but instead we did have an eventful week. We went to stay at Flamborough with my Great Nanna as my Great Grandad had to go to hospital for an operation, all is fine and it was nice to stay with Great Nanna as we went out for yet another delicious pub lunch at the Ship Inn.

This week we also stayed overnight at Briony's which was really nice as we got to spend time with Briony and Gareth and Aunty Libby too.
Mummy & I went shopping on our own in York and Mummy hit the sales and got quite a few bargains too.

Then it was my Great Nanna's birthday on the 6th Aug, but Nanna was working that day so the next day off Mummy, Nanna & I went over to Flamborough to celebrate and take Great Nanna out to the Ship Inn at Sewerby for a birthday pub lunch as you can see I wore my party dress and behaved all day.
So in between all the coming and goings Mummy & I did manage to rest, although I really took to this crawling lark and now am crawling on full cylinders, but it is a tiring task so I did have to rest frequently, well we do want to be on top form for when Daddy arrives in a few days.....

Our Week in London (23rd - 30th July)

Hi Fans,

London here we are - Mummy took us down to the Big Smoke for a week with Lesley & Steve and plenty of sightseeing. Mummy was particularly excited as she said it's been years since she was in London and she/we were going to play the typical tourist and boy did we.

Lesley & Steve have a brilliant flat conveniently located in The Tea Trade Wharf right next to Tower Bridge, so we were excellently placed for a week of sightseeing. In our week we went on the London Eye (Mum says this was the best), saw the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Downing Street, Buckingham Palace & Changing of the Guard, St Paul's Cathedral, Trafalgar Square, Tower Bridge of course, Mummy went around the Tower of London on her own while Auntie Lesley looked after me. We also shopped and found some wonderful markets - Greenwich, Spitelfields and Mummy's favourite Borough Market where she and Lesley had a flat white coffee, and saw Tom Parker-Bowles (stepson of Prince Charles) filming a TV show, I did try to get in on the action though but they weren't impressed with my Prince Charles impressions, of course at all the markets mum visited goods were purchased.... And whilst we were out & about we even managed to find a few of Banksy's 'street art' for Daddy.

And thanks to Auntie Lesley & Uncle Steve, Mummy & I had a fantastic time in London we couldn't have asked for more, even the weather was fab, food and drink was ace and that was just at the flat never mind the eateries we went to too. Mummy loved London she thought it was ace especially around where Lesley & Steve live. Hooray for London

Still more to come - Daddy joins us in the UK and there's my Christening too.

Cheerio for now - Love Ruby xxx

PS - I forgot to say this week at Lesley's I learnt how to get myself from a laying position to sitting up all by myself.....
